Night 1: Ha Noi - Lao Cai

8:00 pm – Mini bus pick up from hotel and transfer to Tran Quy Cap train station.
9:00 pm - Train depart and sleep the nights on train. Travel time approx 9 hrs.

Day 1: Sapa - Cat Cat and Sin Chai - Sapa (B, L, D)

We will pick you up at Lao Cai railway station by bus, to take you to the township of Sapa which takes approx one hour arriving at.
08:00am – After breakfast and a morning shower, we will start walking to Cat Cat and Sin Chai villages in the bottom of Muong Hoa valley. Enjoy the spectacular views of the beautiful valley towards Fansipan- highest peak in Viet Nam and Indochina.
Go through a village of Black H’mong tribe, see people weaving and embroidering their clothes, enjoy colourful rice terraces and the interesting waterfall. Come back to Sapa about.


12:30 pm – Enjoy your lunch in the hotel.
Afternoon will be free time for you to explore Sapa ethnic market and town. Overnight at the hotel in Sapa township.

Day 2: Sapa - Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van (B, L, D)

Enjoy your breakfast then check out of the room. Keep your baggage in the hotel then we will walk from Sapa towards Muong Hoa valley where can admire magnificent landscape. Here you will discover the wonderful scenery of Hoang Lien mountain ranges and meet Black H’mong tribes. Trek through terraced rice paddies and minority villages along the Muong Hoa River, where we can have a nice swim.
We then cross the suspension bridge towards the Zay village, arriving at Ta Van, where we have dinner cooked on a wood fire enjoying the company and hospitality of our Zay family and homestay overnight.

Day 3: Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai - Su pan - Sapa (B, L)

Enjoy mountainous landscape with your sunrise coffee, then enjoy a delicious breakfast ready to trek through bamboo forests towards Giang Ta Chai waterfall, cross over a rattan suspension bridge and enter into Giang Ta Chai village which is inhabited by the Red Zao minorities. Here we will experience their daily life then cross over the Muong Hoa River up the mountain to visit Supan village of the H’mong people. We then take the bus back to Sapa.
Take a fresh shower in the hotel before heading to Lao Cai train station for the night train back to Ha Noi. Tour ends.

It is likely that Sapa was first inhabited by highland minorities of H’mong and Yao group and later came the Tay, Zay, and a small number of Xa Pho to form the 5 main ethnic groups which takes about 85% of the district’s population today and a very small number of them live in Sapa town, most of themlive in small villages and hamlets scattering in valleys and hamlets scattering in valleys and mountains throughout the district.

Night 1: Hanoi - Lao Cai for Sapa

Our trip starts with an overnight train journey from Hanoi to the border town of Lao Cai. Our English assistance will pick up & bring you to the Hanoi Station at 120 Le Duan Str., Hanoi for getting on the train departure at 21.55 - 06.00


Day 1: Sapa-Y linh ho-Lao chai-Ta van (L, D)


06h00 : Arrive Lao Cai, our guide pick you up and go by car to go Sapa Welcome to Hotel for Breakfast.
At 10 am we leave the hotel and start trekking. The first part is on the road but we soon turn to the right and walk on a small path down the valley to the Muong Hoa River and from here to the Black H’mong village Lao Chai San, Lao Chai. Black H’mong is one of the biggest minority groups in the Sapa area. They are proud of their culture and keep their traditions and way of living. They have their own language and wear traditional indigio blue clothing. After this you continue to Ta Van village (1.200 m) to visit Zay people. Zay is a fairly small minority group of about 38.000 people who live mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam. The development has meant that some of their old customs have been lost but many women still wear traditional shirts with a purple, blue or green colour. The Zay houses are build of wood and bamboo with a clay floor. We stay overnight with a local family in Ta Van and have our dinner here.

Day 2: Ta van-Giang Ta chai- Seo trung ho (B, L, D)


After the breakfast we continue to visit Red Dao people at Giang Ta Chai where we also see a waterfall. The Red Dao women have very colourful red embroidery and coins on their clothing. On their head they wear a red scarf. Some of the women have shaved off their eyebrows because of a nice Red Zao legend. Hiking along the local trails to go to Seo Trung ho of Red Zao Village to spend a second night.

Day 3: Seo trung ho - Nam toong - Thanh phu (B, L, D)

We continue along small paths in the rice fields, cross the Muong Hoa River and arrive to the Tay village of Thanh Phu. Tay is the most populous of the hill tribes. Because of the development and adaptation to the Vietnamese society some of them have started wearing Vietnamese clothing. But most women still wear the traditional checkered headscarf. We stay overnight in a wooden Tay stilt house.

Day 4: Thanh phu-Nam sai-Nam ken-Ban ho (B, L, D)

After breakfast hiking to Nam Sai Village to visit the Tay People, then trek up to to the Red Dzao Village the village of Xa pho tribe the smallest group in Sapa who have very little contact with modern Vietnam. Overnight in Ban ho Village of Tay people.
If we reach Ban Ho in the early afternoon you will have time to swim in a nearby river. In the evening we have dinner with the Tay family.

Day 5: Ban Ho-Sapa (B. L)


After breakfast you trek up to Ban Den From here you will be picked up and transferred back to Sapa. In the afternoon you will have time to experience the colorful Sapa market where women from different ethnic minority groups come into town to sell their products.

Our tour will be started at 20:45 at the lobby of the hotel. Our guide will pick you up and transfer to the Hanoi Railway station for the overnight to Sapa

Day 1: Lao Cai - Ta Phin Village (L, D)

Pick up from Lao Cai station. Your journey will be mostly driving to Ta Phin village. Here you can experience the unmixed cultural life of Black Hmong and Red Dao minorities, 2 largest ethnic groups in the area. They live happily together while maintaining their own tradition from generation to generation. You can recognize them by dressing while they are both very famous of handicraft. You will enjoy walking among local people. The trip also offers you the opportunity to visit the local houses. You will return to Sapa by car.

Day 2: Sapa - Cat Cat - Y Linh Ho - Tavan (B, L, D)


Met up at your hotel in Sapa by local guide and then you first sneak through the market and leave the busy town behind. Y Linh Ho sapa vietnam. After a couple of minutes, you will follow a road going downhill to Cat Cat village. You will stop by a waterfall and a hydroelectric station for a while before you trek on a dirt trail through rice paddy terraces. You will also enjoy spectacular scenery while walking along a narrow river. You eventually arrive in Y Linh Ho village of Black Hmong minority, where you can take a rest while you are served lunch nearby the river.

After lunch, you head Muong Hoa valley. You will pass through Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority and then Tavan village of Giay minority by following a very popular trekking route. You will spend the night in local house of Giay minority. You will be able to take a walk to enjoy the valley view as well as swim in the river nearby.

Day 3: Tavan - Giang Ta Chai - Su Pan - Sapa (B, L, D)

Once you get energy for your last day trek by having a delicious breakfast, you leave for Giang Ta Chai village of Red Dao minority. You will trek through bamboo forest, which belongs to Hoang Lien National Park. On the way you will pass by a waterfall where you will have time to take a rest and enjoy the surroundings. You will find a nice place to enjoy lunch.
After lunch, you continue toward Su Pan, a small village located by the road. Here you start your journey back to Sapa by car. Tavan sapa vietnam

Day 4: Sapa - Matra Village - Lao Cai (B, L)


You will be met up at your hotel at 9AM by local guide then start a short walk downhill through beautiful orchid gardens and pine forests. You will then reach a small village of Suoi Ho is inhabited by Hmong ethnic minority. Their house normally built of land has no windows because of the cold in the winter. You will then continue your walk through rice paddy fields and spectacular scenery to Ma tra. It is possible to stop by a primary school for a quick visit. Then our vehicle will be waiting for us for our drive back to Lao Cai for overnight on train.
